Srinagar September, 18 (KINS): In order to inculcate & promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations besides, taking forward youth friendly policing initiative, Bandipora police organizes Open Kashmir Sports Festival which commenced at DPL Bandipora with an inaugural volleyball match.
The police in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that the sports festival will be played in three different categories i.e, Volleyball, Badminton and Kabbadi.
Lines officer DPL Bandipora presented the welcome address and briefed about the competitions to be held during the sports festival.
Addressing the participants, he said that such type of events will provide a platform to youth to explore their hidden talent and keep them physically fit. He added that sports activities help the youth to channelize their energy in a positive way.
Locals of the area have appreciated the efforts of Bandipora Police. They expressed their desire that such events should be organized in future as well so that talent of the youth is encouraged.(KINS)
