Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his endorsement of the Supreme Court’s decision to revoke Article 370, emphasizing the restoration of rights for the poor and deprived. He highlighted the disappearance of separatism and stone pelting, the flourishing of music and cultural tourism, and the strengthened unity, asserting that Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh remain integral parts of the nation.
In a post on X, Shah stated, “Under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, our government is dedicated to ensuring lasting peace in J&K and Ladakh, along with comprehensive regional development. Whether through boosting the local economy, constructing advanced educational infrastructure, or empowering the underprivileged with welfare benefits, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the region.”
Welcoming the Supreme Court’s verdict on Twitter, he remarked, “Today’s verdict reaffirms the constitutional validity of the decision to revoke Article 370 made by PM Narendra Modi on August 5, 2019. Since then, peace and normalcy have returned to J&K, bringing unprecedented growth and development, transforming lives once marred by violence.”
Shah concluded, “The Supreme Court’s ruling establishes that the abrogation of Article 370 was entirely constitutional. Post-abrogation, the region has witnessed the restoration of rights for the poor, the end of separatism and stone pelting, and a thriving environment of music and cultural tourism. Unity has been strengthened, reaffirming the integral connection of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh with our nation.
