DIG CKR Assesses Operations at Eidgah Srinagar Police Drug De-Addiction Centre

Srinagar, Jan 08: DIG CKR Srinagar,Sujit Kumar-IPS, undertook a comprehensive review of the Police Drug De-Addiction Centre at Eidgah Srinagar.
Dr. Muzafar Ahmad Khan, Incharge of the Drug De-Addiction Centre, welcomed the DIG and introduced him to the inpatient department (IPD) patients. The DIG engaged with the patients, gathering their feedback on the center’s performance.
Following this, DIG CKR conducted a meeting with the center’s staff to address any concerns they might have, assuring them of resolution. He encouraged the staff to continue their commendable work, emphasizing that although the center has earned recognition, more efforts are required to combat the societal issue of drug addiction. Drug De-Addiction is a noble mission of the Jammu and Kashmir police, aiming for zero drug addiction in Kashmir.
The event was attended by other police officers, including SP City North Shri Raja Zuhaib, SDPO Mahraj Gunj Shri Hari Prasad-IPS, and SHO PS Safakadal Insp. Sheikh Vakil.
Highlighting its impact, the Drug De-Addiction Centre has successfully treated over 4500 drug addicts in the valley during the last two years, with 2337 cases in 2022 and 2321 in 2023.
