Encounter breaks out in southern Kashmir’s Shopian village

Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants in in southern Kashmir’s Shopian village in the wee hours on Monday.

Sources said that the gunfight broke out in Sangran village of Imamsahib area after government forces over specific inputs about presence of militants in the village launched a cordon and search operation.

As the searches were on, the militants fired on government forces triggering a gunfight.
