JK Bank issued notice against me under political pressure: Deputy Mayor

SRINAGAR, Dec 19: The recently elected Srinagar’s Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran claimed that JK Bank issued defaulter notice against him under the political pressure.

The JK Bank has issued a recovery notice and threatened declared Imran aswillful defaulter.

Imran however said that they defamed him and made “me famous too”.

“JK Bank issued a notice that I owe Rs 78 crore to JK Bank. I paid Rs 51 crore within five days. There is some political pressure on the JK Bank. Efforts were also made to stop me from becoming Deputy Mayor.  I have employed 1300 people but you have destroyed them,” he claimed.

“JK Bank has been my backbone and supported me. I am a third generation entrepreneur. I did my studies in America and started a venture for promotion of economy. Sheikh Imran is ready to pay Rs 27 crore. But if JK Bank asks for Rs 125 crore, people are not such fool. I promise I will do honestly my work. JK Bank has to introspect that despite I am paying them money, I am still the defaulter,” he added.
