Bandipora boy got selected in Princeton University USA for B-tech course

Bandipora, January 01: Muzamil Afzal sofi,a student from the remote area of District Bandipora has been selected by Princeton University in the United States of America for B-tech course.

The student has also been selected in the National University of Singapore and National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in the same course.

Muzamil Afzal Sofi from Aragam Village in Bandipora district has secured 1270/1600 points in B-tech course from Princeton University in USA, but fell short of some points to grab a full-time scholarship there, but Muzamil got 1350/1600 points from National University of Singapore and has grabbed a full-time scholarship there. The minimum eligibility criteria were 1250/1600 points. He also got selected for a full-time scholarship in B-tech from NUST in Pakistan.

Muzamil has received his primary and secondary education from Alfalah Higher secondary in his native village Aragam Bandipora and after completing the 12th class with good marks, Muzamil joined the Wisdom Academy run by a physics teacher Haris Ahmad Bhat in Bandipora town and qualified JEE mains exam by getting 127points. He was selected at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, but did not join as he wanted to go abroad and according to Muzamil, it was there in Wisdom Academy he got motivated to achieve big in his life.
Muzamil while talking to Kashmir Convener said his hard has paid off as he got selected for B-tech course in USA, Pakistan and Singapore. “I want to give credit of my selection to my father and to all those teachers who helped me at different levels and especially to physics teacher Haris Ahmad Bhat who counselled me, motivated me and channelized my energies in the right direction to help me to crack these exams,” he added.

His message for the students is that hard work and appropriate use of online technology can do wonders if done in proper guidance and at the proper time.
