Two held with brown sugar worth Rs 70 Cr in north Kashmir’s Kupwara: Police

Kupwara, Jan 31 : Kupwara police have arrested two youth with 19 Kilograms of brown sugar from Karalpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said.

“The two accused, Zameer Ahmad Raina and Riyaz Ahmad Badan resident of Amrohi village of Karnah Tehsil were arrested from Karalpora area along with 19 kilograms of brown sugar worth 70 crore in international market,” SSP Kupwara Shriraim Ambarkar said while addressing a press conference.
“After receiving a tip-off police laid Naka at Karalpora after stopping a vehicle bearing registration no, JK0IR-4584, police recovered 19 kg of brown sugar from their possession,” SSP said.
He said a case with FIR NO 2/2019 has been registered further investigation is on.
