Army Rescues Trapped Students From Chattral River

Poonch, July 31: Army on Wednesday rescued two students who got trapped inside river Chattral of Mendhar area in Poonch district.

Reports reaching said that the duo on way to Government Higher Secondary School at Chattral had slipped into the river which was overflowing due to incessant rains in the area.

Soon after, Army’s Romeo force of 37 Rashtriya Rifles under the supervision of Company Commander Major MP Singh launched a rescue operation.

After hours of operation with the active involvement of locals, the Army rescued the students from the river.

The act of Army was hailed by one and all present on the occasion, reports added. (GNS)
