Governor distributes Tri-cycles among physically challenged persons

Srinagar, October 23 – Governor Satya Pal Malik distributed 13 Tri-cycles worth Rs. 8.19 lakh among the physically challenged persons at a function organized at Raj Bhawan here today.

Advisor to Governor, Shri K.K. Sharma, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, Shri Deeraj Gupta, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Director State Motor Garages, Shri Zakir Hussain Choudhary were also present on the occasion.

While interacting with these special persons, the Governor said that Government is committed to their welfare and every possible step will be taken for their proper rehabilitation. He said Government has already launched several schemes for the welfare of physically challenged persons, and concerned authorities are monitoring their affective implementation on ground so that their benefits percolate to the needy. The Governor observed that the persons with disability have a special place in the society and are equally contributing for the development of the nation in every field, and they should not in any way feel isolated.
