Awantipora Police arrests 02 drug peddlers, psychotropic substance recovered

November 04: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Awantipora, arrested two drug peddlers at a checkpoint and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Tral-Chaankatar crossing arrested two drug peddlers identified as Mohd Ayoub Khan son of Gulam Mohd Khan resident of Astaan Mohalla Tral and Abdul Qayoom Sheikh son of Nabir Sheikh resident of Machama Tral.

Officers at the checkpoint have recovered 1600 Tablets of Spasmoproxyvon from their possession. They have been shifted to Police Station Tral where they remain in custody.

Case FIR No. 81/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered & investigation initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
