I-League: Kashmir to host maiden Football tournament post Aug 5

Srinagar, Dec 03 : Stage is set for first tournament in the valley as Real Kashmir FC will start their I-League football tournament campaign against East Bengal FC on Wednesday at the Kalyani Stadium, Kolkata.

 According to wire service— while as Real Kashmir FC will face Gokulam on their home turf TRC Srinagar on December 12.I-League will be the first major tournament that will commence in the valley post scrapping of Article 370, which the centre removed on August 5.

Real Kashmir, on the other hand, had a dream season last year. They became the first ever team from the Kashmir valley to play I-League and were in the race of title contenders at one point of time. However Real Kashmir FC finished the league on third position last year. Real Kashmir FC will come into the tournament after playing Durand football tournament where they reached semifinal post.

Meanwhile football lovers are excited as they will get to see their favorite stars in action and are ready to cheer for Real Kashmir FC.

“I and my friends are enthusiastic to be a part of history. Real Kashmir FC has taken football to a next level and it is our duty to support and cheer our team. We cannot wait for December 12”, said Aadil Malik, a supporter.

Aadil added, “Real Kashmir FC is the first time to play at a huge stage and it will pay way for more players to come out in large and make our place more famous”. Meanwhile a coaching staff of Real Kashmir FC said, “Big boys are excited to come on the ground and do their best and showcase their talent and make big name for themselves”.

We were in Durand Cup and people had that experience in their mind as well and we are pretty much sure that we will outclass East Bengal in their backyard. (KNO)
