Srinagar : A militant was caught alive during a gunfight in Lawaypora in outskirts of Srinagar on Wednesday that left his two associates dead.
Official sources told Kashmir Indepth that a militant was caught alive during a gunfight in Lawaypora area in outskirts of Srinagar that left his two associates dead.
Earlier a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF personnel ring fenced the Lawaypora area and launched a search operation, militants present in the area opened fire on the forces.
The forces, according to the official, returned the fire, leading to an encounter which ended with the killing of two militants.
Officer said in the exchange of fire one CRPF jawan was critically injured and on way to hospital he succumbed to his injuries.
