Srinagar Police organizes talent hunt event “Choona Hai Aasman”

February 10: Srinagar police organized talent hunt programme ‘Choona Hai Aasman’ under Civic Action Programme at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS was the Chief Guest on the occasion, besides senior officers of police and jury members were also present at the event.

A large number of participants from District Srinagar participated in the District Level Singing Competition. They were categorized in three age groups viz 5-12 years, 13-18 years and 19-25 years. Three winners from each category were conferred with cash prize of Rs.5,000/-, Rs.3,000/- and Rs. 2,000/- respectively. The aim of the programme was to provide platform to aspiring contestants to showcase their talent and provide them opportunity to demonstrate their abilities so that they can be projected at regional and national levels.

The winners will qualify for the Range Level Singing Competition and the winners of Range Level Competition would compete at Zonal Level and finally the winners of Zone Level shall be provided with the opportunity to compete at the higher level to claim the title of “CHOONA HAI AASMAAN”.

On the occasion, SSP Srinagar expressed that valley is blessed with youth full of talent and they need to be motivated to excel in different fields.

While Speaking on the occasion IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS praised the contestants for their exemplary skills and talent, further he said that J&K Police is committed to provide platform to talented people especially youth in various fields. He also said that, the sole objective of these programmes is to provide a platform to those children who are otherwise unable to explore opportunity to showcase their talent before the world.

At the conclusion, trophies and cash rewards were distributed among the winners in each age group. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. G.V.Sundeep-IPS, SP City South Srinagar.“`
