Langate residents demand the release of Govt share of SBM Scheme

Srinagar, Feb 17 : Residents of Bandiyeen Village of Haril North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday said they have not availed the benefit of central Sponsored Scheme Swach Bharat Mission (SBM) despite completing all the formalities.

A group of aggrieved residents said that they have constructed the Bathrooms in the year 2018 but so far they have not received the benefit of the scheme.

They alleged that they are visiting the concerned officials regularly for the pending payment but no heed is paid to them.

However, when the agency raised the issue with the Block Development Officer (BDO) Qalamabad, he admitted that the payment is pending. “We haven’t received the payment from higher-ups. Rs 1 crore bill is pending and we have received Rs 6 lakh only, “he said. (KNS)
