Police Public interaction meetings held in Srinagar and Handwara

March 10: As a part of its public reach out programme, Police public interaction meetings were facilitated by police in Srinagar and Handwara.

In Srinagar, the police public interaction meeting was held in Police Station Karan Nagar. The meeting was chaired by SHO PS Karan Nagar.

The meeting was attended by pharmaceutical business fraternity of Karan Nagar area. The participants raised various issues including black marketing, dumping stocks of masks & hand sanitizers, surcharging, wrong parking etc. The chairing officer assured participants that the issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority and the other issues will be conveyed to concerned departments for early redressal.

In Handwara, a Police public interaction meeting was held in Police Station Handwara. The meeting was chaired by SDPO Handwara Shri Tariq Mehmood-JKPS along with SHO Police Station Handwara and Incharge Police Post Magam.

The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens including sarpanches, panches, numberdars, chowkidars of the area. The participants raised various issues including water crisis, shortage of electricity, repairing of canal, illegal use and supply of drugs in the area. The chairing officer assured the participants that the issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority and the other issues will be taken up with concerned departments.

The main aim of these meetings is to create cordial Police-Public relationship and to seek cooperation of community members in eradicating social evils from the society.

The participants in both the meetings assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils in the areas. The participants lauded the effort of police for facilitating such meetings where participants express their views freely.“`
