26 COVID – 19 patients today discharged from Trauma Hospital Bijbehara

ANANTNAG, MAY 19:   As many as 26 COVID–19 positive patients of the villages of Nowgam, Shangus, Tailwani, Pushroo, Kohair, Kullul Nowgam and Kharpora area of Kokernag were today discharged from Trauma COVID-19 Hospital Bijbehara, thereby reaching the total number of recoveries to 88.

The said patients after going through repeated tests and treatment at Trauma Hospital, Bijbehara (designated COVID – 19 Hospital) were today sent to home quarantine by District Magistrate Anantnag, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar in presence of CMO & Dy. CMO Anantnag after they were tested negative for the said disease.

The recovered patient lauded the efforts of administration and entire health department for serving such patients with devout and round the clock tirelessly.

The DM Anantnag said that district administration is highly equipped to tackle the situation and added that a robust mechanism is in place to fight the said Disease which includes aggressive sampling and testing of patients.

Earlier DM had visited distribution centre established at Government Degree College (women), Anantnag under the supervision of COVID-19 Nodal Officer Mr. Showkat Ahmad Rather for distribution of essential commodities to the poor families of the district.

The DM on the occasion informed that after making survey/screening of beneficiaries list by the concerned Tehsildars from different quarters, the district administration, Anantnag helps the poor families by providing them the ration kits.

The DM also said that various traders and other people, who came forward with essential commodities like atta, rice, oil, spices etc will be distributed among the poor families.

He also said these ration kits will be handed over to concerned Tehsildars for distribution.

Earlier Nearly 1655 ration kits have been distributed among the poor families and labour community who suffered due to lockdown.
