Reputed national business head Yogesh Samat holds online interaction with J&K youth

100 candidates attended session organized under JKSDM Covid-19 special skill programs

SRINAGAR, JUNE 12: Under J&K Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) ‘Covid-19 Lets Skill IT online program’, CEO Grauer & Weil India Ltd & Former CEO Barista Yogesh Ramchand Samat today held an online interaction with the youth of J&K on entrepreneurship & employment and highlighted various opportunities available in service industry.

Principal Secretary, School Education and Skill Development Department Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon; Director, Skill Development Department; Mission Director, JKSDM; Additional Secretary, Skill Development Department; Principals of Government ITIs and Polytechnics; PMKVY training providers and other officials of JKSDM participated in the online program. Around 100 candidates also attended the program.

While sharing the opportunities available in service industry sector, Samat, an alumni of IIM Bangalore said, “J&K has a huge market for tourism, agriculture and horticulture and focus of the youth should be on these sectors where creation of jobs has a potential.”

Samat also said he is committed to support and mentor J&K youth in getting internship/apprenticeship opportunities in national and multinational companies as well as in establishing their own business.

“The training has helped me a lot and its timeliness has made it more meaningful, said Monika, a participant.

Under the Covid-19 special skill program, JKSDM is providing online training to around 1100 candidates on various  skills sets such as cyber security, GST, tailoring skills (Masks & PPEs), internet web designing, front office operations in hospitality sector, beauty makeup etc.

Candidates including professionals, home makers, unemployed youth and students pursuing professional courses are receiving training for these courses in JKSDM affiliated institutions namely Amargyan Institute of Computer Sciences & Technology, Evergreen Computer Institute, Sri Sri Kaushal Vikas Kendra, Sampark Global and Zain-ul-abideen Computer Training Centre, National Institute of Technical Trainings, Infotech Institute of IT, Wyath Multi-Skills School, Super Computer College, GKIETR, Falkan Skill School and Gyan Institute of Vocational Trainings. Besides, daily class by instructors, the candidates are also getting an opportunity to interact with reputed industry experts.
