PM Modi hails launching of Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan as a historic day for welfare of rural poor and their employment


Srinagar, June 20 (KINS): While launching the “Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan”, the Prime Minister Saturday said, is a historic day as a huge campaign has been started for the welfare of the poor people and for their employment.


He said, the main objective of this campaign is to provide employment opportunities to the people according to their skills and interest. He said, the country knows the needs of the poor people and this campaign is a medium to fulfil those needs by providing work opportunities in the vicinity of their homes. Mr. Modi interacted with some people who came back to their villages after the lockdown.


He said, after the lockdown, talented people returned to their homes and this is a time to convert this crisis into an opportunity by creating rural infrastructure with the help of these talented migrant workers.


The Prime Minister said, it is the endeavour of the Government that workers get jobs near home. He said, till now they were developing cities, now they will help their village. Mr Modi said, 50 thousand crore rupees will be spent on this mega campaign and it will help in creating modern facilities in the rural areas. He said, the mapping of the skills of all labourers has also been started so that they can get work according to their skills.(KINS)
