Girl attempts suicide in Sopore


Sopore,18 July(KINS): A teenage girl attempted suicide in Dooru village of Sopore. 


Police have registered a case and started the investigation. This suicide attempt comes amidst the pandemic. “There has been an increase in suicide cases in Kashmir especially in north Kashmir during the pandemic,” a police official told news agency KINS. 


It is pertinent to mention here that alongside the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a shadow pandemic of domestic violence going on which has been acknowledged by WHO also.(KINS)
