GOI wants to divide people of J&K on religious lines, says Mehbooba in Jammu

KINS Desk

Srinagar Nov 6 (KINS): PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Friday said that Bhartiya Janta Party wanted to divide people of Jammu and Kashmir on religious lines.

Mehbooba, who is on maiden visit to Jammu since released from her detention, told party workers that BJP wanted to divide people of J&K on religious lines.

“We all have to be united to defeat their designs. We should not allow them to divide us on religious lines. We have to be united to save our identity,” she said, as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

She appreciated people of Jammu for raising voice against government’s “anti-people” policies. “You have to save Dogra identity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about J&K in Bihar elections. Why BJP leaders are silent on China which entered into 1000 square kilometer of our territory and martyred 20 of our Jawans in Ladakh. Why are they afraid of China which constructed permanent barracks there,” she asked.

“Government of India held several round of talks with China but do not want to have dialogue with people of J&K and snatched our identity. New Delhi is saying that situation is under control then why PDP leaders and workers are not allowed to hold protests. You want to suppress voices of people,” she said.
