Two girls died, 3 rescued as Fast-flowing stream swept away Family in Tangmarg

Srinagar, July 14(KINS): Two Girls drowned while two others were rescued in a stream at Dreng area of Tangmarg in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon.

An official said that the bodies of the two teenage girls were found in the water body while two others were rescued after they were taken away by a fast flowing stream ( Ferozpur-Nalla) at Dreng area of Tangmarg.

He identified the deceased girls as Aisha Bilal-(18) daughter of Bilal Ahmad Khan of Nawabazar and Utba Ashraf-(16), daughter of Mohammad Ashraf of Bemina.

He also said that three other people who were rescued and shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment have been identified as Mohammed Ashraf Khan, Rehana and Amad Khan, trio the residents of Srinagar.

Meanwhile, the death of the duo girls due to drowning led to an atmosphere of mourning in the area.

A police official said that the family had come to the spot on a day picnic during which they were swept away by a fast flowing stream.

“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at the concerned police station,” he said.(KINS).
