USBRL project: DC Ramban reviews progress, bottlenecks with Railway authorities

RAMBAN, JULY 31.( KINS ):  Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today conducted a virtual meeting with Railway authorities to resolve issues and review the pace of progress on the prestigious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL) Project.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, who is also the Collector, Land Acquisition (Railways); Dy. Chief Engineer Northern Railway, Hussain Khan; Chief General Manager IRCON, S. Moray;   Executive Engineer, MS Khosla;   besides other senior officers from Railways and Civil Administration attended the meeting.

The DC reviewed location-wise issues of land acquisition cases and resolved most of them by passing necessary directions to the concerned departments.

The DC assured Railway authorities of full support from the District Administration to achieve the targets in the completion of the prestigious USBRL Project, which will connect Kashmir valley to the rest of the country.

He urged the Railways, IRCON and other construction companies to   organise skill training programmes for   local youth in different skills related to construction engineering to enhance their chances of employability.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the participants that in order to resolve the issues for hassle-free construction, the District Administration will continue to hold periodic virtual meets. He   also impressed upon them to adhere to SOPs at work sites to contain the spread of Covid infection. .( KINS )
