J&K KVIB celebrates Gandhi Jayanti at Sanat Ghar, Bemina

SRINAGAR, OCT 2 ( KINS) : On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated every year on 2nd October, the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) today organised a function at Sanat Ghar Bemin, here to commemorate the day.

The function started with the lighting of lamp and Mahatma Gandhi sculpture was garlanded by the Secretary/CEO, Atul Sharma.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary/CEO highlighted the vision of the Gandhi Ji including non-violence and swadeshi. He said that his teachings are relevant even in today’s India adding that the nation does not believe in any form of violence, and swadeshi has been transformed into Atmanirbhar Bharat which aims at making the country self-sustaining and self-generating.

The Officers of the Board and line departments also garlanded the sculpture of Father of Nation on the occasion.

Among others, officers/officials of the Board were present on the occasion to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation on his 152nd Jayanti.( KINS)
