Police arrests 02 drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered

 
Srinagar ,Oct 08 ( KINS): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Police party of Police Post Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Panzgam Awantipora intercepted two persons identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar and Mohd Subhan Dar son of Gh Mohd Dar both residents of  Panzgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 40 kgs of grinded Cannabis concealed in two nylon bags. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 175/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.( KINS)
