DC Kupwara reviews Covid-19 scenario in district


Asks officers to ensure strict vigil on the spread of pandemic
KUPWARA, JANUARY 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the Covid-19 scenario in the district.
The meeting was informed that there are currently 483 active positive cases in the district with 1.55 percent positivity rate. Besides, the district has recorded 14904 recovered cases constituting 95.79 percent recovery rate.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the need of the hour is to take maximum precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic as the J&K UT is witnessing a spike in daily positive cases. He appealed to the general public to not lower the guard against the pandemic and urged them to take vaccines and follow the Covid appropriate behaviour.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure strict vigil on the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, besides, ensure maximum sampling so that people with Covid like symptoms could be isolated earlier.
At Tangdar, SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather reviewed the scenario of Covid-19 in the sub division in an officers meeting.
The meeting held a threadbare discussion on the necessary measures to be put in place for mitigation of Covid-19 crisis including establishment of RTPCR testing point at Baghbella, enforcement of usage of Gloves and masks by vegetable and meat vendors, besides, observing of Covid appropriate behaviour inside passenger vehicles.
