Mega ‘Tiranga rally’ on 13th August: DGP

Srinagar, August 12 (KINS): The Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh, said that the mega Tiranga rally in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be held on Sunday (13 August).

“Under the banner of “Meri Maati Mera Desh”, we have organised several programs. Lot of activities including the Tiranga rallies are happening everyday in the Union territory. The mega Tiranga rally will be held tomorrow on 13 August,” the DGP said as per KINS.

He said that the preparations for hoisting Tricolour across the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir are going on in full swing with great enthusiasm and fervour shown by common citizens, Students, teachers.

The Director General of Police added that Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) organized various programmes across J&K, wherein students, youth and locals participated in big numbers.

“The Tri-colour flag is a symbol of pride for every Indian. J&K Police has dedicated one full week to celebrate it. Different types of events/programmes are being organized by J&K Police in every nook and corner of the UT,” he said.

On 15 August security preparations, Dilbagh Singh said that all the security arrangements will be put in place for the smooth conduct of celebrations.

Meanwhile the officials told KINS that Painting, National Anthem singing, essay competitions, quiz programmes, debates and seminars are being held in various Govt. Degree Colleges, schools besides, Tiranga Rallies, Flag hoisting on buildings as well as homes are also being held across the districts.

“The spirit of the young generation is so high that they have started preparations for the event many days before with regular rehearsals. Students are proactively participating in various activities and events and are very excited to perform in upcoming Independence Day functions,” the officials said.

Similarly, other departments are also conducting programmes in order to spread the message of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to all people,” the officials added.

It is to be mentioned here that the Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh in the last week chaired a high level meeting to review the preparation and overall security arrangements regarding the celebration of Independence Day functions across the J&K UT.

The DGP had discussed in detail all the arrangements to be made for smooth conduct of ID function and had directed to ensure all the necessary arrangements are in place well in time.(KINS)
