SrinagarSmartCity Electric Bus Service Hits Milestone: Five Lakh Passengers Commute in 60 Days

Srinagar Jan 02: Athar Aamir Khan, CEO of Smart City Srinagar, proudly announced a significant achievement as the Srinagar Electric Bus service, reached a milestone of transporting five lakh passengers in the first 60 days since its launch on November 1, 2023. The successful initiative was inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.
Reflecting on the accomplishment, Khan stated, “The past two months have been a great learning experience for all of us in establishing a sound and reliable public bus transport system in the city. The overwhelming response from the general public to SrinagarBus has surpassed our expectations.”
The CEO highlighted the tremendous growth in ridership, with the number of passengers per day witnessing a nearly fivefold increase since the service’s inauguration. This surge in usage underscores the positive impact of the electric bus service on the city’s public transportation landscape.
