Dry weather: Entry restricted in Kashmir forests and wildlife sanctuaries

Srinagar Jan 17 (KINS): In view of
dry weather conditions in Kashmir, the Wildlife Department has issued a notice prohibiting unauthorized entry into forests and Wildlife Protected Areas.
The department emphasizes the heightened risk of forest fires due to the prolonged dry spell and urges individuals to refrain from unauthorized activities in areas under its jurisdiction. The ban particularly applies to Brane, Nishat Conservation Reserve, Dachigam National Park, Dara Conservation Reserve, Khrew/Khanmoh Conservation Reserve, Wangath Conservation Reserve, and Thajwas Wildlife Sanctuary. The notice warns that anyone found within these areas without prior permission will face strict consequences under the Wildlife Protection Act. (KINS)
