Heavy Rainfall Causes Major Landslide, Shooting Stones, Halts Traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

Srinagar, Apr 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police department has reported a significant disruption in traffic flow on the crucial Jammu-Srinagar national highway due to heavy rainfall-induced landslides and shooting stones in the Kishtwari Pather area.
This 270-kilometer lifeline connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country has been rendered impassable, leaving scores of commuters stranded.
Despite swift action by authorities to clear debris, the highway remains closed to vehicular traffic late evening on Monday as efforts to restore normalcy continue. Authorities have issued advisories urging caution and advising against travel until conditions improve and the road is deemed safe. For updates, commuters are encouraged to contact Traffic Control Units at provided numbers.
