RRL High School holds Investiture Ceremony

Jammu May 01: The Annual Investiture Ceremony of Regional Research Laboratory High School, Canal Road Jammu for the academic session 2024-25 was held here today with great pomp and show. In this connection, a special programme was organized in the auditorium of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu to bestow the deserving students of the senior wing with responsibility of leading the school with discipline and responsibilities. Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine who is also ex-officio, Chief Patron of Col. R.N.Chopra School Society, was the chief guest whileas Anju Bala, I/C Principal of School presided over the function. Dr. Ahmed alongwith Anju Bala I/C Principal and Upasana Sharma, I/C Co-curricular activities (CCA) conferred the badges and sashes to the newly elected students’ council of the School. The Investiture ceremony signifies the confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. The School is divided into four houses i.e. Raman House, Kalam House, Bose House, Aryabhata House, named after the great Indian Scientists Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, Jagdish Chandra Bose and Aryabhata respectively, stated in a press handout issued here. The newly elected students cabinet members are Vani Kapoor and Radhu Sharma as School Captain & Vice-Captain, Master Ahmed Khurram is School Co-ordinator and Myra Rajput was elected as Sports Captain. Bhakti Gupta and Manya Sharma as Captain & Vice Captain of Raman House, Arushi Kumari and Nandani Bhagat are Captain and Vice-Captain of Kalam House, Anvi Sharma and Drishti Bhatti are Captain and Vice-Captain of Bose House while Shriya Verma and Seerat Bhagat are Captain and Vice-Captain of Aryabhata House. Sumiya Kouser elected as School Head Girl and Master Rajan Jolly as School Head Boy. School teachers Jyoti Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Vandana Katoch, and Priya Wadhera are In-charges of Raman House, Kalam House, Bose House and Aryabhata House respectively. Dr. Zabeer Ahmed the chief guest of the function while congratulating the newly elected students’ council of RRL High School exhorted them to uphold the values as the council has pivotal role to play in nurturing the fellow students and maintaining the discipline in the School. The student council is bestowed with important responsibilities thus he advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also reminded them that with position comes a lot of responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve the heights. Later the Principal administered the oath to the students’ council to hold the school motto of Live, Learn and Lead in high esteem. She urged them to be role models and lead by example with godly wisdom. Upasana Sharma, I/C CCA conducted the proceedings of the investiture ceremony while as Priya Wadhera, Sr. Teacher presented formal vote of thanks on the occasion. The function concluded with the National anthem.
