Srinagar, July 31:J&K Bank has significantly bolstered the healthcare infrastructure at SKIMS, Srinagar, by donating advanced hydraulic trolleys, stretcher trolleys, and wheelchairs. This generous contribution falls under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aimed at enhancing patient mobility.
In a formal ceremony, J&K Bank’s Divisional Head for Kashmir, Shabir Ahmad, handed over the equipment to SKIMS Director Dr. Ashraf Ganai. The event was attended by Zonal Head (Srinagar) Raja Zaffar, Cluster Head Asmat Ara, Medical Superintendent (SKIMS) Dr. Farooq Ahmad Jan, and other senior officials from both institutions.
This donation is part of a broader CSR initiative by J&K Bank, which seeks to provide advanced patient-transport trolleys, stretcher-on-trolleys, and foldable wheelchairs to key healthcare institutions across Jammu and Kashmir. The aim is to improve patient mobility and convenience in both government and charitable hospitals.
Commenting on the occasion, Divisional head Kashmir Shabir Ahmad stated, “Our goal in providing this equipment is to enhance accessibility and convenience in healthcare services. This initiative addresses the critical need for improved patient transportation within hospitals, ensuring smoother and more dignified movement for patients.”
He further emphasized, “This initiative is not just about providing equipment; it reflects our commitment to community welfare and inclusive healthcare. By collaborating with local healthcare stakeholders and addressing their needs, we aim to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in Jammu & Kashmir, thereby strengthening the region’s healthcare services.”
Expressing gratitude, Dr. Ashraf Ganai, Director of SKIMS, said, “We are immensely thankful to J&K Bank for their generous support through CSR. This donation is crucial as it significantly enhances our ability to provide efficient and dignified patient care. The advanced equipment will ensure timely and comfortable transportation for our patients within the hospital.”
The initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of patients annually, supporting government efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir.
