BJP’s Shazia Ilmi Accuses NC of “Misleading Public on Statehood Issue”

Srinagar, Sep 04 (KINS): BJP National Spokesperson Shazia Ilmi has accused the National Conference (NC) of misleading the public regarding the issue of statehood for Jammu & Kashmir.
Ilmi while speaking to reporters argued that the Union Territory (UT) government does not possess the authority to restore statehood, as this power solely resides with the Central Government.
Ilmi emphasized that the Modi government has already addressed the matter in Parliament, assuring that statehood would be restored at the appropriate time.
She criticized the NC for allegedly using the statehood issue to deceive voters, while reiterating the BJP’s commitment to follow through on its promises once the conditions are deemed right by the central authorities.(KINS)
