Div Com reviews repair and maintenance of Jammu City roads

Srinagar , Nov 05 ( KINS ): Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting of road construction agencies to review the repair and maintenance of roads in Jammu city.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner JMC, SSP traffic, Chief Engineer PWD, Chief Engineer UEED, PD NHAI, Dy GM NHIDCL and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The Div Com sought the status of works and condition of different roads. He directed for better maintenance of roads, including filling of potholes and removal of blockades especially wherever road/flyover construction works are going on.
It was informed that the road stretch from Jeevan Nagar to Kunjwani shall be ready by the end of this month. Similarly the concerned road construction agency assured that the road from fourth Bridge on Tawi to canal head Akhnoor shall be ready in 15 days. The Div Com further asked the concerned to ensure there is no hindrance in the traffic movement on any stretch of the road where construction works are going on. He suggested taking up the repair and maintenance works lane wise for hassle free movement on these roads.
The Div Com took stock of the roads under PWD including Satwari to R S Pura road, Janipur road and the city roads maintained by JMC. The Div Com was apprised about the status of tender works and the expected date of completion.
The Div Com directed the concerned agencies to identify priority roads and ensure their timely repair and maintenance works for providing the public hassle free travel on the roads. He asked the JMC to implement measures to avoid flooding on the roads in the city.( KINS )
