Srinagar, Nov 8: A heated exchange broke out in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday between National Conference (NC) leader Tanvir Sadiq and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) chief Sajad Gani Lone regarding an NC-backed resolution.
The debate began when Lone criticized the NC resolution as lacking strength and urged the party to revise it for greater historical impact. “This resolution needs more foresight and strength,” Lone argued, suggesting that a reconsidered stance could leave a meaningful mark on the region’s political history.
Visibly agitated, Sadiq responded with a sharp retort, questioning the source of Lone’s critique: “I don’t know where from these five leaders are getting their directions,” he remarked, hinting at possible external influences on the JKPC members. The exchange quickly escalated as both leaders traded pointed words, capturing the Assembly’s attention.
The altercation highlighted underlying tensions and differing visions within the Assembly regarding the future direction and political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir
