Srinagar, Nov 13 (KINS): Director of the Meteorological Centre in Srinagar, Mukhtar Ahmad, has forecasted a mix of rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with potential travel disruptions on higher-altitude routes.
Mukhtar Ahmad shared the update with news agency KINS, advising caution for travelers on specific dates and routes.
“Today’s weather, November 13, is expected to remain dry. However, light rain and snowfall are anticipated on November 14-15 across various areas in Kashmir and parts of Jammu Division, especially in higher reaches. This will be followed by scattered light rain and snow on November 16, before an extended dry spell resumes from November 17 through 23”.
An advisory has been issued for November 15 due to expected light snowfall at high-altitude passes, which could temporarily disrupt surface transportation.
Key affected routes may include Zojila, Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass, Sinthan Top, and Mughal Road.
The Met Centre has urged tourists and travelers to plan their journeys accordingly, particularly during the night of November 14 through November 15.(KINS)
