Advisor Nasir Sogami pays tribute to Sheikh Abdullah
Srinagar, Dec 5 (KINS): Nasir Sogami, Advisor to the Chief Minister, paid tribute to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, fondly remembered as “Sher-i-Kashmir,” for his transformative role in liberating the people of Jammu and Kashmir from oppressive rule and laying the groundwork for progress and development.
Speaking at a commemorative event, Sogami emphasized the importance of honoring the region’s historic leaders. “It is our collective responsibility to remember those who shaped our history and gave us the strength to speak and achieve milestones. Sher-i-Kashmir’s efforts stand out as he played a pivotal role in granting us freedom and dignity,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the hardships endured during the era of autocracy, Sogami described it as a period of widespread tyranny. He credited Sheikh Abdullah’s visionary leadership for breaking the chains of oppression and paving the way for a brighter future. “His contributions will remain an integral part of our history,” Sogami added.
The Advisor also prayed for Sheikh Abdullah, saying, “May Allah grant him a place in Jannah and elevate his status further.”
Addressing attendees, Sogami acknowledged the reinstatement of a previously canceled ceremony and assured that more elaborate celebrations would be organized in the future. “By the next significant milestone, we aim to ensure full-fledged observance of these important traditions,” he promised.
