Police detain drug peddler under PIT NDPS act in Handwara

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KINS): In a decisive move to combat drug trafficking, Police have detained drug peddler Manzoor Ahmad Shah under the PIT NDPS Act in Handwara. Shah, a resident of Gund Moomin, is a prominent member of a drug syndicate involved in destroying the lives of youth by pushing them into substance abuse.
Shah has been linked to multiple criminal cases, including FIR Nos. 266/2020 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kupwara, and FIR No. 15/2024 under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act at PS Vilgam, highlighting his continuous illegal activities. Despite previous actions against him, Shah persisted in his criminal endeavors, prompting police to initiate detention proceedings.
A detention warrant under Section 3 of the PIT NDPS Act was executed today, and Shah has been brought to the police station for further legal action.
Police remain committed to eradicating drug abuse and trafficking in the region, with strict measures being enforced to protect the youth and maintain a drug-free society.(KINS)
