Srinagar, Dec 17 (KINS): A one-day training program on IED data management and post-blast investigations was conducted by Zonal Police Kashmir at PCR Kashmir, in collaboration with officials from the National Security Guards.
The session was inaugurated by IGP Kashmir and attended by SSP Srinagar, SO to IGP Kashmir, and other senior officers of the Police Headquarters via virtual mode. Additionally, gazetted officers from all districts in the Kashmir zone, as well as officers and personnel from the Valley’s Bomb Disposal Squads, participated in the program.
The main objective of the session was to bolster the police force’s ability to manage IED-related threats and enhance post-blast response strategies. Key discussions focused on improving data management systems for better tracking, analysis, and prevention of IED attacks. The Post-Blast Operations Program aimed to refine investigative techniques to ensure a more effective response to blast incidents.
Director of NBDC, Jamal Khan, provided an in-depth presentation on the workings of the National IED Data Management System and the National Bomb Data Centre. The training session was designed to ensure nationwide preparedness of all stakeholders in combating terrorism. The director outlined the tools, techniques, and tactics used in post-blast investigations, and case studies of various bomb/IED incidents were also discussed.
The program concluded with a Q&A session for participants and the presentation of mementos.(KINS)
