Police Extends Helping Hand to Needy Amid Heavy Snowfall Across Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, Dec 28 (KINS): In response to the recent heavy snowfall across the Kashmir valley, J&K Police have been providing crucial assistance to those in need, including evacuating ailing patients and rescuing stranded travelers from hazardous conditions.
In Anantnag, police received a distress call about four tourists stranded in heavy snow while traveling from Dalwach to Dooru. A team from Police Station Dooru promptly rescued the tourists and safely escorted them to a secure location. Additionally, a female patient in severe pain, who had recently undergone surgery, was evacuated from Bragam Dooru to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Dooru in a police vehicle, ensuring timely medical treatment.
In Budgam, police assisted stranded tourists in Doodhpathri and aided patients, commuters, and tourists stuck on roads across the district, especially in remote areas. In Pulwama, police rescued a group of people with a deceased body stranded at Wahibugh and ensured the body was carried on foot to Qazipora for the final rites. They also helped two women in need of urgent medical attention, transporting them safely to District Hospital Pulwama.
In Ganderbal, police provided support to tourists, commuters, and patients stranded in the snow across various locations. In Awantipora, a distress call about a woman in critical need of medical treatment was responded to swiftly by the police, who evacuated her to SDH Tral for urgent care.
In Kulgam, a cardiac patient in Adigam was swiftly transported to the hospital after the family was unable to access medical facilities due to snow and slippery roads. A police team led by the SHO of Devsar police station ensured the patient received immediate treatment.
Baramulla witnessed extensive emergency operations, with police rescuing stranded vehicles, providing mechanical help, and installing snow chains along key roads like the Gulmarg-Tangmarg axis. Police teams were deployed to assist stranded travelers and tourists in the area.
J&K Police has set up emergency help desks at key locations and deployed teams across the valley, especially in remote areas, to provide assistance in such challenging weather conditions. The force continues its unwavering commitment to supporting the community during emergencies.
