Srinagar, Jan 01 (KINS): Srinagar Police has apprehended three individuals involved in an extortion and assault case. The arrests follow a comprehensive investigation into an incident that occurred late last month.
On December 23, 2024, Gh Mohiuddin, a resident of Firdous Abad Batamaloo, arrived at PS Maisuma with visible injuries and filed a formal complaint. He reported that on the night of December 21-22, at around 2:00 AM, while heading to Budshah Chowk for sanitation duties, he was attacked by a group of assailants. The suspects physically assaulted him and forcibly stole money from his wallet before fleeing the scene.
A case, FIR No. 30/2024, was registered under relevant sections of law at PS Maisuma, and a detailed investigation was launched.
The police team, utilizing CCTV footage and technical analysis, successfully identified and arrested the culprits. The arrested individuals have been named as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, alias Ish Mut, son of Khursheed Ahmad Dar, from Nishat Khaki Mohalla, Srinagar; Tahir Ahmad Mir, alias 90, son of Sonaullah Mir, from Bangladesh Colony Rainawari, and Arsalan Mushtaq Wandroo, alias Karihul, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, from Hasibath Rainawari, Srinagar.
