Srinagar Jan 13 (KINS):
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday inaugurated the much-awaited Z-Morh Tunnel, a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering during the event according to news agency KINS, PM Modi stated the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises and ensuring development in the region.

“The demand for the old one has been fulfilled today. And you should believe me, this is Modi. He keeps his promises,” the Prime Minister remarked, highlighting the completion of the project as a testament to his administration’s dedication.

PM Modi noted the strategic and socio-economic importance of the Z-Morh Tunnel, which will ensure all-weather connectivity to Sonmarg and significantly ease travel for the people of Kargil and Ladakh.

“Every work has a time, and at the right time, the right work happens,” he said. “This tunnel is not just an infrastructural achievement but a step toward improving the lives of people in the region.”

The Z-Morh Tunnel, spanning approximately 6.5 kilometers, is part of a broader effort to enhance road connectivity in the Himalayas. It is expected to provide year-round access to the picturesque Sonmarg valley and improve accessibility to border regions. (KINS)
