Biker dies after throat slashed by banned Chinese Manja on Jammu-Akhnoor flyover

JAMMU, July 26:
A 37-year-old biker tragically died after his throat was slit by banned nylon thread, commonly known as “Chinese Manja,” on the Jammu-Akhnoor flyover near the Canal area today.

The incident occurred around 6:15 PM when the dangerous thread got entangled around the neck of Sahil Kumar (37), son of Rajinder Prasad, a resident of Domana. Sahil was riding towards the Bus Stand area with his wife when the fatal accident took place, a police official said.

He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police have shifted the body to the mortuary of GMC Jammu for post-mortem and have initiated further investigation into the matter.

Notably, the sale and use of Chinese Manja, also known as “Gattu” or “Manja,” is banned in Jammu district under Section 144 of the Jammu and Kashmir CrPC by order of the District Magistrate.
