Baramulla youth create two world records at ‘Kashur Riwaaj 2025’ Cultural Festival
Srinagar, July 30 (KINS): The vibrant Kashur Riwaaj 2025 cultural festival held in Baramulla turned into a historic occasion as youth from the district set two world records, celebrating Kashmiri culture and creativity on a grand scale.
Organised by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps in collaboration with the Baramulla District Administration, the event was graced by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The festival aimed to revive traditional Kashmiri art forms, promote youth participation, and spread awareness about drug abuse.
Two world records, certified by the Universal Records Forum (URF), were set during the festival. The first was the largest Ladishah performance, with over 20,000 students participating from 162 locations across Baramulla. Ladishah is an age-old form of Kashmiri storytelling that uses satire and humour to highlight social issues.
The second record was for a massive Kalamkari (calligraphy) event, where 18,350 young participants wrote the patriotic song “Saare Jahaan Se Achha” in traditional calligraphic style—celebrating national unity and artistic heritage.
LG Manoj Sinha praised the achievements of the youth and applauded the Indian Army for its efforts in preserving Kashmir’s cultural legacy and fostering peace. Participants described the event as inspiring and unforgettable, reflecting the region’s rich traditions and growing youth involvement in positive initiatives.
The success of Kashur Riwaaj 2025 marks a proud moment for Kashmir—reviving heritage, promoting harmony, and empowering the next generation.(KINS)
