Attendance of AAP MLA Mehraj Malik in Assembly depends on Court nod: Speaker
Srinagar, Oct 03 (KINS): J&K Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said the participation of AAP MLA Mehraj Malik in the upcoming session will depend on whether the court allows him, as Malik is currently detained under the Public Safety Act.
On the show-cause notice issued to PDP MLA Waheed Para for his post alleging Assembly secretariat’s role in endorsing Malik’s PSA detention, the Speaker clarified that the Secretariat has no role in imposing PSA, which is done by district magistrates.
He further said a provisional calendar for the upcoming brief session, likely to have 5–7 sittings, will be issued soon based on government business.(KINS)
