Srinagar, Oct 13 (KINS): Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Sharma, on Monday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will make every possible effort to secure victory in all three Rajya Sabha seats it is contesting from the Union Territory.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Sharma as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) said the party has already chalked out its strategy and is confident of performing strongly in these elections.
“The BJP is a strong and united party. Yesterday, we finalized our roadmap for these elections, and we will make every effort to ensure that BJP wins all three seats,” Sharma said.
The BJP’s official candidates — Sat Sharma (CA), Rakesh Mahajan, and Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir — filed their nomination papers today at the Civil Secretariat (J&K Assembly) in Srinagar.
Expressing confidence, BJP President and candidate Sat Sharma said the enthusiasm among party cadres reflected the growing public support for the BJP across Jammu and Kashmir.
“I am delighted to see the energy and enthusiasm among our party workers,” he said as per KINS.
Senior BJP leader R.S. Pathania, while speaking to the media, criticized the opposition, particularly the National Conference (NC), accusing it of making false promises during elections.
“This is a ‘lollipop government’ that has only given false assurances to the people. I want to ask Omar Abdullah — where is the free electricity you promised? Where is the regularization of daily wagers? And what happened to your claim of restoring Article 370?” Pathania questioned.(KINS)
