Srinagar, Oct 30 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday terminated two government school teachers from service for allegedly posing a “threat to the security of the State.”
The terminations were ordered under Article 311(2)(C) of the Constitution of India, which empowers the government to dismiss employees without a departmental inquiry if the Governor or the President is satisfied that such action is necessary in the interest of the security of the State.
The dismissed employees have been identified as Maajid Iqbal Dar, a resident of Kheora in Rajouri district, and Gh Hussain, from Kalwa Mullas village of Mahore in Reasi district — both working with the School Education Department.
According to official orders, the Lieutenant Governor was “satisfied, after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available, that the activities of Maajid Iqbal Dar and Gh Hussain are such as to warrant their dismissal from service.” The orders further stated that “it is not expedient to hold an inquiry in the interest of the security of the State.”
In a statement, an official spokesperson said that Gh. Hussain, son of Ali Mohammad and resident of Kalwa Mulas, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi, a teacher in the Education Department, was found to be in perpetual communication with LeT terrorist Mohammad Qasim of Angralla (a Government of India-designated individual terrorist) and LeT terrorist Gh. Mustafa of Chasana, on whose instructions he was to constitute an OGW network in Reasi to facilitate the activities of LeT.
With the latest action, the total number of government employees terminated in Jammu and Kashmir under Article 311(2)(C) since 2021 has reached 84. (KINS)
