Modi Govt committed to Tourism boost: Ashok Koul Assures swift redressal of hoteliers’ issues in Pahalgam

Pahalgam, Nov 28 (KINS): Jammu & Kashmir BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul on Friday met hoteliers and local stakeholders in Pahalgam, where he listened to their concerns and assured timely intervention through the appropriate government and party channels.
The interaction was aimed at strengthening coordination between the tourism industry and policymakers, ensuring sustained growth of the region’s hospitality sector.
During the meeting, hoteliers apprised Koul of several operational challenges, including infrastructure gaps, regulatory hurdles, and the need for better tourist facilities. After giving a patient hearing to their grievances, Koul reiterated the BJP’s commitment to supporting the tourism sector, which he described as a crucial pillar of Jammu & Kashmir’s economic development.
He highlighted that the people-oriented and welfare-driven governance model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought significant benefits to Jammu & Kashmir over the past 11 years, particularly after August 5, 2019. He said the region has witnessed unprecedented socio-economic development, with major reforms ensuring transparency, accountability, and inclusive growth.
Referring to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Koul said that despite such unfortunate incidents, the popular tourist destination—like several others in the Valley—continues to witness remarkable growth in tourist inflow. He added that the increasing interest of Indian and international film industries in Kashmir is evidence of the improved security environment and enhanced infrastructure developed under the Modi government. This renewed cinematic attention, he said, will further generate employment and business opportunities for local youth.
Koul stressed that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP remains committed to holistic development and securing a brighter future for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. He assured hoteliers that their issues would be prioritized and resolved, reaffirming the government’s commitment to creating a more conducive environment for tourism, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with stakeholders appreciating the BJP leadership for directly engaging with grassroots representatives and addressing key sectoral challenges with seriousness and commitment. Hoteliers also discussed the need for strong confidence-building measures in the aftermath of the recent massacre to further strengthen the region’s tourism sector.(KINS)
