Srinagar, April 15 (KINS): Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday rededicated the renovated War Memorial of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) at the Regimental Centre, marking the regiment’s 78th Raising Day.
The ceremony was held with solemnity, paying tribute to the regiment’s rich legacy that began in the aftermath of Partition. The JAK LI, which initially started as a volunteer force, brought together patriots from diverse backgrounds united by a shared commitment to defend the nation during the early days of conflict.
Over the years, the regiment has earned a distinguished reputation for its role in operations across difficult terrains and counter-insurgency missions.
