Srinagar, Sept 30 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the closing ceremony of the 11th Mega Eye Surgery Camp organised by the Indian Army under Operation Drishti.
A total of 364 vision-restoring surgeries were performed in Srinagar and Tangdhar in Kupwara. The Tangdhar camp, described as the first mega eye surgery camp on the border, restored vision to 220 patients in two days.
LG Sinha commended the Indian Army, Armed Forces Medical Services doctors, support staff and Air Force personnel for conducting the surgeries despite challenging terrain and logistical difficulties.
He said Operation Drishti represents “service, compassion, courage and resolve” and noted that the initiative has helped strengthen trust between the Army and local communities.(KINS)
