Srinagar, 19 Mar 2024: As part of their ongoing efforts to empower young girls through sports, the Indian Army orchestrated a Badminton Tournament at Sanctorum Public School in Sopore. This initiative aimed to foster a spirit of athleticism and camaraderie among the participants, showcasing their talent and passion for the sport.
The tournament, held at the school’s indoor badminton court, attracted eight teams from Sopore, each eager to demonstrate their skills over two days on March 18 and 19, 2024. Throughout the event, the atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as the participants engaged in spirited competition, embodying the values of sportsmanship and fair play.
Divided into singles and doubles categories, the tournament provided a platform for the young athletes to exhibit a diverse range of playing styles and strategies. The league matches were closely contested, with each team showcasing their talent and determination on the court.
In the singles category, the team representing Valley Public School emerged triumphant, showcasing exceptional skill and resilience. Meanwhile, in the doubles category, the team from Amargad High School displayed remarkable teamwork and coordination, securing their victory in the competition.
